CMF's Quarterly Policy Update
Please join CMF's Government Relations Public Policy Team and your Michigan philanthropy peers for our Quarterly Policy Update. Navigating the Current Health and Policy Landscape—A Philanthropic Response
All CMF members are invited to join the Health Funders Affinity Group for a timely conversation exploring the intersection of health, community well-being, and philanthropy in today’s rapidly shifting policy landscape. This webinar will begin with an overview of the current state of the sector, examining key policy developments and systemic challenges that will shape the health field. Participants will gain insights from a local health system that is responding to needs through innovative, community-driven solutions, offering a clear picture of what’s working and new opportunities ahead. This session will conclude with an open dialogue among participants, creating space to share perspectives, ask questions, and identify actionable next steps.
Michigan Philanthropy Virtual Housing Convening - Continuing the Conversation, Deepening Connections
Join your Michigan philanthropy peers and other stakeholders involved in housing work across the state. We hope to continue the conversation from the April 22 CMF and OFL hosted in-person Housing Summit. This will be an opportunity to share, hear, and learn from peers about cross-sector partnerships and innovative approaches being used to address Michigan's housing shortage and discuss needed policy changes. Please join us in this important conversation to hear lessons learned, deepen partnerships, and build coalitions along with policy opportunities to inform future work in addressing housing needs of Michiganders.
Unpacking Michigan's Revenue & Economic Forecast
Leaders from the Michigan Department of Treasury, State Budget Office and Senate and House Fiscal Agencies meet to forecast the U.S. and Michigan economies and state government revenues during the Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference (CREC). Amid rapid changes and vast uncertainty at the federal level, join us for this special funder conversation to hear from State Treasurer Rachael Eubanks and State Budget Director Jen Flood as they walk us through the highlights from the May 2025 CREC, share the economic outlook for the state and provide estimates for the current state budget and revenues for future years.

Paving the Way for Courageous Philanthropy | A CMF Equity Signature Series
Back in 2024, before the elections, Marguerite Casey Foundation engaged in scenario planning exercises with their stakeholders to envision various future administrations. The result was, among other things, clarity, agility, and steadiness in responding to today’s attacks on communities and philanthropy, with a continued focus on the organization’s values and impact in facing the current crises. Join us for a conversation on how foundations can prepare to be courageous now and in the future, and what that looks like in terms of supporting nonprofit partners working on community organizing and advancing a vibrant multiracial democracy.
